Measurement of the charge asymmetry in top pair production in CMS

Asia/Seoul
Description

In the Standard Model (SM), the top quark pair production exhibits charge symmetry at the leading order. However, predictions at higher orders introduce an asymmetry due to a preferred direction of top quark momentum originating from the initial quark. Furthermore, various beyond SM models may amplify this asymmetry. Thus, measuring the charge asymmetry in top pair production gives a chance to test SM and new physics models. In this study, I present the measurement of charge asymmetry using the CMS in the LHC.
